HIPS

HIPS is a proprietary image processing and computer vision toolkit for Unix computers. It was developed at New York University, primarily by Michael S. Landy. This article describes its native raster graphics file format.
Format details
HIPS format appears to begin with a plain text header section, with one (unlabeled) item per line. The header section is terminated by a line consisting of a single period.
