NASA Raster Metafile

A NASA Raster Metafile is a format devised by NASA as a generic raster image file format, created along with some utilities to manipulate such images. It dates to the late 1980s. Files can have multiple images in them, and one of the areas in which it was used was in the production of videos and animations.
Files have a header with opcodes specifying various attributes of the format, followed by one or more images, which can be in several different formats which include black and white and color images. Color images are done as RGB color separations, with three different bitmap sections for red, green, and blue color intensity.
