MT9
MT9 is a digital audio file format developed by Korea's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
MT9 allows listeners to adjust the volume for each channel – such as guitar, drums, bass and vocals - muting or amplifying their favourite parts. This feature would also likely be used by artists, who could more easily create remixes from existing songs, and this could create intellectual property conflicts.
In Korea, it was called Music 2.0, and overseas, it was called Interactive Music.
MT9 was mainly released as an album (CD), and has been sold as a digital album on Audizen.com since June 2008. Many albums by famous (especially South Korean, not Western) artists have been released (some people choose to purchase only albums containing Music 2.0 sound sources).
MT9 to MP3 conversion utilities are also existed.
