Description
Epic Megagames MASI - also known as ProTracker Studio Module although, confusingly, ProTracker was probably not used to create .psm files - is an audio file format used in a number of games created by Epic (Jazz Jackrabbit, Epic Pinball, Extreme Pinball, Silverball, Sinaria and One Must Fall).
There are two different, but related versions of the format - PSM New Format and PSM 16. Almost all the games listed above use the PSM New Format, with only Silverball using the older PSM 16.
Information
PSM New Format can be identified by the 4-byte signature 'PSM ' at the start of the file. PSM 16 generally uses the signature 'PSMþ', although some files may lack this. It should be noted that only one source gives any information on the PSM 16 format, naming it "ProTracker Studio 16", but that this may not be the official designation for the format.
