Discussion

CompuLog maintains a database consisting of two files: COMPULOG.CAT and COMPULOG.DAT. The DAT file apparently contains thumbnail images, and the CAT file contains metadata.

There may also be one or more .SRT files, which are evidently configuration files related to "viewer mode".

CompuLog's main purpose is to index files on a user's personal collection of floppy disks, and other storage media. Its database files are not very portable to other computers.

Identification

The .CAT file is observed to start with bytes 00 08, followed by ASCII "COMPULOG".

.DAT: Undetermined.
