This is a PC character set; it is not specific to DOS (although the code page numbers might be specific to DOS; I don't know). I am not sure how this should be mentioned in the article. --Zzo38 (talk) 02:38, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, it's an IBM-PC character set that's used by DOS, and pretty strongly associated with DOS, but is not unique to DOS. Pretty sure the numbers weren't invented by DOS. I also don't know the best way to present it.

On a slightly unrelated topic, I made the mistake of naming a category and some articles "MS-DOS...", that really should just be "DOS". I just haven't been motivated enough to fix it. -Jsummers (talk) 18:59, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
