FONTASY is a desktop publishing application for DOS, developed by Prosoft. There are several (presumably raster) graphics formats associated with it:

  • Picture (.PIC, .TEM, and others) - The main FONTASY document format; also used for templates.
  • Block - Clip art image. Does not seem to have a default filename extension. Extensions .BLK[1] and .BSG[2] have been seen.
  • Preview (.PV) - Clip art library.

See also FONTASY font.

Identification

A Picture file has ASCII "FYFY" at offset 2.

A Preview file starts with ASCII "PVV".

A Block file consists of the image dimensions, followed by the bitmap data. It can't really be distinguished from various other formats that follow this pattern.
