Bug Repellent by Michael Kleinert and David Barron is a type-in program checker for Commodore used by Ahoy! magazine.

It generates a two-letter checksum for each line.

The algorithm was updated in Issue 6 (Jun 1984)

The programs were substantially updated by Buck Childress in Issue 41 (May 1987), adding immediate feedback, auto save and an updated algorithm.
