1. Digital forensics is a field where police get data out of an electronic device to solve a case (ex. Murder, terrorism). Basically think of it as detectives. 2. Data Recovery is the recovery of personal data from deletion, encryption, or forgotten passwords/passcodes. Think of it as getting priceless photos undeleted. 3. Data Preservation/Archival is archiving or preserving data so that you can access it in the future or for heritage.
