I'm not sure how to categorize XDF and the like. It's a format, but it's not a unique physical format, or disk image format, or filesystem format. FWIW, this type of format is sometimes called a "superformat", though I'm not sure how well established the term is. -Jsummers (talk) 18:46, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
