QuARK (also written QuArk, Quark) is a compressed archive utility for DOS, and associated .ARK file format, developed by Robert Kunz.

Identification

(Based on educated guesswork.)

Files start with bytes 0x37 0x04, and have 0x37 0x03 (a marker for the first member file) at offset 8.

The byte at offset 2 is a version number. Known values are 0x10 for v1.00beta, 0x16 for v1.06.
