GPX (GPS Exchange Format) is an XML-based format for interchanging GPS (Global Positioning System) data between applications. Version 1.0 was released in 2002, followed by current version 1.1 in 2004.

GPX files are in XML form, with an opening <gpx> tag including a parameter xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1".
