Verity Image Format (VIF) is a bi-level raster graphics format associated with a search-related product called Topic, developed by Verity, Inc.

It reportedly uses CCITT Group 4 compression. It appears to have a header consisting of ASCII-encoded decimal digits.

See Verity for related formats.

History

In 2005, Verity was acquired by Autonomy. In 2011, Autonomy was acquired by Hewlett-Packard, and became known as HP Autonomy (website, Wikipedia article).

Verity's website was at www.verity.com. As of this writing, the Wayback Machine refuses to reveal any records it might have of it.
