Nokia Startup Logo (NSL) is a raster image format used by some Nokia phones. It stores bi-level images, whose size is always 84×48 pixels.

There might be other "Nokia Startup Logo" formats, used by other models of phones, whose format is different from the one described here.

Contents

Format

NSL appears to use be variant of IFF, with segment lengths stored in 2 bytes instead of 4.

Identification

Files begin with the ASCII string "FORM". They also contain "NSLD", and probably "VERS" and "MODL".

Software

  • Gammu can read NOL files, though it's not clear if it can write them to a more portable format.
