File Format
Name 1-Step
Ontology
Extension(s) .1-Step

1-Step was backup software included with Iomega's ZIP and JAZ drives. Found on the ZIP Tools Disk or copies of IomegaWare discs for Windows 95, 98 & NT systems.[1][2] Software will only work if a ZIP or JAZ drive and disk is detected. 1-Step backup will create a file on the destination drive with the name of the backup, the disk number, and the date and time of the backup with the extension .1-Step. Later versions of the software would use the 113 backup format.

File Information

1-Step files are binary files often found segmented across multiple disks with the final file containing the catalog.[3] The files begin with the hex values CDABCDAB.
