Apple ISO 9660 extensions refers to a family of extensions to ISO 9660 format, characterized by a data record with an "AA" (newer formats) or "BA" (older formats) signature in the "system use" area of each directory record. (Some sources claim there is an "AB" record, but we could not confirm this.) The record contains metadata relevant to HFS or ProDOS.

Format details

The record is expected to begin at offset 0 of the system use area, or offset 14 for CD-ROM XA format.

The "AA" record formats are similar enough to a SUSP/Rock Ridge entry that they can be, and sometimes are, used as such.
