Husqvarna-Viking[1] is a Swedish company with a sewing machine manufacturing division. Computerized embroidery machines have been in production since the early 1990's with support for a specialized memory card, floppy disk, and USB connections.

VIP embroidery files are design files and were used after a merger with PFAFF in late 1990's[2] and were replaced by the VIP3 format.[3][4]

VIP files can have hex values 5BAF9001 or 5DFC9001 for the first 4 bytes.
