Adobe Acrobat Capture was an early scanning/OCR software for converting scanned images into searchable PDF as part of their ePaper solutions.[1][2][3] Adobe released Versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 before discontinuing the software in 2010.[4]

File Information

Scanned images processed through Adobe Acrobat Capture software would use the intermediary ACD (Adobe Capture Document)[5] format to store all the document information. This would be linked to one or more ACI bitmapped image files which are 1-bit TIFF images.

Format Information

  • ACD files may contain the header 02 04 47 47 C9 00 and reference the bitmap ACI files.
  • ACI files are TIFF images.
