CFL, in the context of file formats, does not refer to the Canadian Football League or Compact Fluorescent Lamps or a Luxembourg railway system; it is a Compressed File Library, an archiving format used in some games. It appears in the listing of 3D formats because 3D game data is among the data which is typically stored in this format. It resembles the Doom WAD format.
