Liberty IM is the native graphic format of the Liberty paint/animation software from Chyron (later from VDS, Video Design Software). This is a package widely used in professional broadcasting and production, for Windows and SGI workstations (older versions were not compatible with recent Windows versions from Vista onward, but a newer Windows 7 release has been made). Some other formats including TIFF are also supported, and may be better suited for import/export with other programs which may not support IM.
