SEA (Self-Extracting Archive) is a format and file extension used for self-contained archives for the Macintosh platform which are compressed in the StuffIt format with the extraction program embedded in the archive file so that it is directly runnable. (Compact Pro also produced self-extracting archives with the same extension.)
Software
- SEA files (both Stuffit and Compact Pro files) can be accessed and extracted by The Unarchiver. Although a GUI version is only available for Mac, command-line versions are available for Mac, Linux and Windows. On some GNU/Linux distributions, this can be obtained through the unar package. Source code is also available (under the LGPL)
