Now Contact was part of the Now Software[1] Now Up-to-Date & Contact software package for managing calendars and contacts. Now Contact is PIM (Personal Information Manager) software. Later owned by PowerOn Software[2].

Now Contact files did not use extensions on the Macintosh platform, but in Version 5 and on Windows, NCT was used. Now Contact files begin with the magic bytes BEDEAD01.
