LB, aka Low Bitrate is a audio format optimized for low bitrates (44kHz, stereo at the default level: ~20 kbps), and can produce quite good quality at this bitrate. The player and packer were both created by Dmitry Shmunk. The player & packer are both for DOS, but it has a Windows player (not packer).
[edit] Identification
Apparently the LB files packed with LBPack start with 'R' 'I' 'F' 'F' ?? ?? ?? ?? 'L' 'B' 'i' 't'
, which it's based on RIFF.
[edit] Software
- Note that the demo versions can't encode stereo files and limits encoding at 2.5 million samples (~1 minute at 44 kHz, ~2 minutes at 22 kHz and ~4 minutes at 11 kHz). The full version doesn't have those limits.
