* Are you looking to just add a section for recovery or alternative render solutions, or are you wanting to re-write all the info? I’m looking at a potential rewrite. All versions of iWork files post 2013 can be extracted (from .pages or .pages.zip, etc or from a folder bundle, down to the bare components. Both Keka (MacOS) and 7Zip (cross platform) can extract iWork files. Recovery there being a bit of tedious but not difficult, per se, editing of the xml. NeoOffice, the commercial mod of OO/LO appears to have little trouble opening older iWork files back to the early teens with just an extension change. Albeit with some minor formatting issues. A plug-in for Calibre exists for the earlier editions, abandoned, but working. Also, some Mac PDF editors with one-click conversion can transfer iWork to multi-layer PDF files. Such as PDFExpert. These allow a two program conversion. Loading the PDF in a viewer/editor with output filters (Calibre, Acrobat) allow the PDF to be converted to Office Open or Open Office quite accurately.
All said, Apple’s unique fandom that can attach itself to specific hardware or OS versions… has made official formats easily convertible. Any thoughts before I attempt a re-edit here. LostinlodosR (talk) 19:30, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
