SoundHelix XML is the main configuration format used by SoundHelix, a Java program written by Thomas Schürger[2] that algorithmically generates music (specifically, it outputs directly to a MIDI synthesizer, or to a MIDI file). The files specify details of MIDI tracks to output to, rhythm patterns, etc., and the SoundHelix program combines this with a random seed to produce its output.
