[edit] Introduction
Video color system, mainly used in the U.S.A., developed by RCA, adopted and standardised by National Television System Committee (hence the name NTSC). The acronym also stands (negatively) for "Never The Same Color" because distortion through aerial tranmission can cause the AM television signal to be damaged, resulting in shifting of hue. PAL does not suffer from hue shifting as it uses a smarter devised color carrier.
