OmniOutliner is a note taking, outlining, organization software tool meant to capture ideas and project details.^[1][2]Developed by the OmniGroup and released in 2000.^[3]

File Information

• Versions 1 and 2 of the software used a native format with the .ooutline extension and was an XML based Plist
• Versions 3 and 4 of the software used a native format with the .oo3 extension and was XML or and XML in a Apple bundle format
• Version 5 of the software uses a native format with the .ooutline extension and uses the ZIP container format to store is data
