I emailed wiki@texfiles.com and Jason Scott gave me the password. I can't share it here because that would defeat the whole purpose of it. But if you aren't able to email him to ask for it, you could try sending him a DM via his [https://twitter.com/textfiles Twitter/X account] (assuming you have an account with that or are willing to sign up for one). His pinned tweet also provides details of his Mastodon and IRC accounts if those are an option for you. [[User:SJK|SJK]] ([[User talk:SJK|talk]]) 11:04, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

can you be more specific about how your trick to bypass captcha works?

Sure. When you put a link on a page (like file samples), do with the HTTPS template, in an new tab, put Template:HTTPS and make a small edit (like httpa instead of https), save it and the page you're working on. Then undo the edit to Template:HTTPS. Problem solved!

How would you handle archive.org links like web.archive.org/web/20160324030807/hxxp://nibblemagazine.com/KeyPerfect2.0.dsk ? (replace 'hxxp' with 'http') The embedded link ends up getting caught.

edit 2: was able to get a response from wiki@textfiles.com by using a different account. Try from a different provider (like gmail)

[edit] The password to post links

I emailed wiki@texfiles.com and Jason Scott gave me the password. I can't share it here because that would defeat the whole purpose of it. But if you aren't able to email him to ask for it, you could try sending him a DM via his Twitter/X account (assuming you have an account with that or are willing to sign up for one). His pinned tweet also provides details of his Mastodon and IRC accounts if those are an option for you. SJK (talk) 11:04, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
