Fireworks PNG is the native format used by the now discontinued Fireworks software developed by Macromedia and later Adobe.[1] Unlike a standard PNG file, Fireworks used custom chunks to enhance the PNG format to allow for layers and multiple pages to used within the PNG structure.[2]
