AY is a format for emulated ZX Spectrum / Amstrad CPC / Atari ST / General Instruments AY series sound chip sounds. It consists of blocks of compiled Zilog Z80 microprocessor code along with a header. These are also sometimes referred to as ZXAYEMUL sounds.
