MPEG Audio Layer II, also known as MP2 (but not to be confused with MPEG-2), is a compressed audio format. There are two versions of it: MPEG-1 Audio Layer II and MPEG-2 Audio Layer II.
It is one of the standards defined in MPEG-1 Part 3 (ISO/IEC 11172-3), and in MPEG-2 Part 3 (ISO/IEC 13818-3).
