PRONOM is a web-based technical registry to support digital preservation services, developed by The National Archives of the United Kingdom.
- PRONOM website
- Provides version-level format information on hundreds of formats, and mints permanent identifiers for each (e.g. fmt/10).
- Each record can be downloaded as XML. (e.g. fmt/10.xml).
- Also published as linked data, using this ontology.
- Cross-references to MIME Type and file extension.
