== Format details ==

NIL files are a lot like the [[Icon library (Impact Software)|ICL files]] made by Icon Manager. Most header fields are filled with 0-valued bytes.

Apparent differences:
* The "{{magic|NE}}" header starts at offset 64, instead of 128.
* NIL files never have the "{{magic|IM}}" signature.

NIL files are labeled as being for Windows (byte at offset 118 is <code>0x02</code>). They are ''not'' labeled as being DLL files.
