Discussion
This article currently covers the ICL format written by versions 3.01 through 3.2.1 of the original Easy Icons, for Windows 3.x. The previous known version, 2.0, does not write ICL files.
The apparent successors to Easy Icons are Easy Icons 95, then EasyIcons 98 + IconEasel 98. Easy Icons 95 is 16-bit Windows software that only runs on 32-bit Windows. Some versions of Easy Icons 95 might write the same ICL format, but this is undetermined. A different ICL format made by Easy Icons 95/98 apparently exists.
Format details
The format is similar to Norton Icon Editor's format, but with not quite as many header fields zeroed out.
ASCII signature "PT
" appears at offset 45.
