VectorWorks is CAD software for architecture and landscape design. Owned by software company, Nemetschek Group. Originally named MiniCAD until 1999 the name VectorWorks was introduced.

File Identification

File extension changed from .MCD to .VWX in 2008 with the release of VectorWorks 2008. .STA files refer to VectorWorks Templates.

File header will display version file was created in, for example: VW12.5.3
