I've been adding emulator save states here as it seems like the closest fit for them. If anyone objects or feels there's a better place to put them, please go ahead and do it. Assuming they stay here, it might be worth creating separate sections for save states and saved games (there's loads more emulator save states still to add). I think funny notation is not a format of a saved game status; it describes the movement of the pieces. Why did you list it here? --Zzo38 (talk) 17:04, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Sometimes some odd stretches take place in the course of trying to get everything under the sun to fit into the taxonomy; this site has always had a very expansionist view of what is a "file format", extending as far as documenting various notations and coding systems even when not actually in a data file, so then they all have to be crowbared into the structure of this site; since chess notation already made it into this category because it's a means of noting the status of a game, then variants on it also go here, I guess.
