Linux is the whole OS?

Really? I always thought it was a kernel of the operating system? What do you call Debian GNU/BSD then? FreeBSD? VolodyA! V Anarhist (talk) 20:08, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

I think that leads into some big religious wars in tech fields... Dan Tobias (talk) 22:21, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
To me it's like if somebody were to say "Linux now has MS Windows on it" rather than "GNU/Linux has a working GUI". And believe it or not, i do know some people for whom "Windows" and "GUI" are synonyms (those people usually consider a tool panel to be "Mac", and thus consider Unity in Ubuntu to be Mac as well). So it's not about starting some sort of holy war, it's about saying things in a way that can be understood to be correct. But i'll let it go for this article for now.
I did add some clarification. Dan Tobias (talk) 15:16, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
