Spaceward Graphics refers to the graphics file formats associated with a company named Spaceward, and its Satori family of graphics software for Windows, including Satori Paint.

For ".R" format, Image Alchemy's documentation says that the image channels are stored in separate .R, .G, .B, and .A files. It's not clear if this is just a clerical error, or a reference to a different version of the format, or what. The Image Alchemy software itself only produces a .R file, containing all channels. And the available documentation for Satori Paint also only mentions the .R file.
