Roxio Easy Media Creator 8, 9, 10 & Roxio Creator 2009-2011 could save an optical disc burning project to a file with the .ROXIO extension. Starting with Creator 2012, the ROX format is used. This project file contains information about the files/audio/video to be burned to disc and not the files themselves. Corel bought the Roxio products in 2012.[1]
File Information
Roxio disc burning software is notorious for not being compatible with earlier versions[2]. Although it seems Creator 2012 can open ROXIO and ROX project files.[3] It is unknown if all Creator versions produced ROXIO files compatible with each other.
File Identification
.ROXIO files begin with the hex values "00BB00BB
".
