Primavera P6 is project management software released in 2007 to replace the older P3 software[1]. Oracle purchased the software in 2008 and is still used today[2]. Projects can be saved to the proprietary XER format or a newer XML based format[3].

Format Information

  • XER files begin with the ASCII string ERMHDR followed by the software version and date. Can contain multiple projects[4].
  • XER file may differ in the contractor version[5].
  • XER parser exists using excel[6].
