PictureGear Pocket is a picture album application developed by Sony, for Sony's CLIÉ PDA devices.

PictureGear is also spelled Picture Gear. CLIÉ is also spelled CLIE.

The CLIÉ runs a version of PalmOS. Data associated with PictureGear Pocket can apparently be exported in the form of a Palm PRC file.

Ed. note: Some information in this article is based on analysis of PRC files that XnView (a third-party application) creates, and has not been confirmed by official sources.

PictureGear Pocket PRC files are based on PRC format, and apparently have ASCII "IMVSIMVS" at offset 60.

[edit] Software

  • XnView - Can write PictureGear Pocket PRC files (not clear if it can read them).
  • PictureGear Lite - Software for managing picture files, covered in the PictureGear Pocket documentation. Presumably, at least some versions can do something with PictureGear Pocket pictures.
