Overview

These formats describe how a page that is to be printed looks like. It's mostly used as final format before the data is sent to the printer.

  • DVI TeX/LaTeX
  • EMF, a variant of WMF as used by Windows in print spooling
  • ESC/P, Epson Standard Code for Printers
  • HP-GL
  • PCL (e.g. PCL5, PCL6 used in laser printers)
  • PDF (derived from PostScript)
  • PS, EPS (Adobe PostScript)
  • XPS (XML Paper Specification)
