PIC is a raster graphics format that was used mainly in Japan. It was apparently developed by the same "Yanagisawa" person who developed Pi and PIC2.

Some file format lists include a format named Japan PIC or Japan Picture, with extension .jpc. Those are probably references to this format. As evidence, the DOS program DISPLAY (DISP189A.ZIP + DISP189B.ZIP), by Jih-Shin Ho, supports this format as "Japan PIC (.jpc)".
