This article is about the font format. For another PFR format, see PaintShop Pro.

PFR (Portable Font Resource) is an outline font format developed by Bitstream. It was sometimes used for embedded fonts on web pages.

The terminology isn't easy to make sense of. Apparently, the technology surrounding PFR is called TrueDoc, at least when it isn't called Dynamic Fonts or Bitstream WebFont technology instead. The term TrueDoc might sometimes be used to mean just the PFR file format.

PFR/TrueDoc was supported by Netscape 4.03, and later 4.x versions.
