ISO 646-JP (646-JP, ISO IR-14, IR-14) is one of several 7-bit character encodings in the ISO/IEC 646 series which are national variants, replacing some of the ASCII characters with other characters suitable for particular languages. This one is aimed at the Japanese market. It doesn't have any Japanese characters in it, but does have a yen sign if you have a yen for that. It's in a different position from the yen sign in the ISO 646-CN Chinese version.
