ISO 646-CN (646-CN, ISO IR-57, IR-57) is one of several 7-bit character encodings in the ISO/IEC 646 series which are national variants, replacing some of the ASCII characters with other characters suitable for particular languages. This one is aimed at the Chinese market, though it does not actually include any Chinese characters; it does, however, have a Japanese yen sign at position (hex) 24.
