DPX (or SMPTE DPX, Digital Picture Exchange, Digital Moving-Picture Exchange) is an image file format intended as an intermediate format for video editing. A video would be composed of many DPX files, each containing one frame.

Files begin with ASCII characters "SDPX
" (big-endian DPX), or "XPDS
" (little-endian DPX).
