Chyron is a company that has made various devices to create, store, and transmit on-screen graphics (including on-screen text) for use in the broadcast industry. The company name has been used as a "generic" name for such on-screen graphics in TV programs whose technical name is "lower third". Various storage media have been used to store the graphics, including Chyron's VidiLoop magnetic tape, as well as floppy disks. Some of the devices have names with "Chiron" (with an "i").
