&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;I've handled TERSE files with the .trs extension before, but I'm multiple layers removed from their origin, so I'm not certain if this is actually a standard extension added either on the mainframe or when transferring from the z/OS filesystem to a different filesystem, or if this is just something that was always manually added before I saw the files to make it clear what they were.
