PCX-to-Executable v1.00 (unregistered) has an issue that causes it to reject many PCX files that should be compatible with it: It requires the "resolution" field to be exactly 320x200. That is, the bytes at offset 12 need to be <code>40 01 c8 00</code>. This is an unimportant and poorly-documented field that it ought to ignore.

A file made by v1.00 (unregistered) appears to consist of a 17891-byte executable module that is always the same, then a copy of the original PCX file, and ending with 4 bytes giving the size of the PCX file.
